This document is a list of loanword suffixes which have a long monophthong. This affects mainly non-high vowels, like a, e, o. The orthography has a way of marking high vowels as long: iij, uv, ov.
Rule: The stressed vowel of the source language is long before QI or QII
-loga : /looka/ fonologa, teologa
-logalaš: /lookalaš/ fonologolaš, morfologalaš
(but not -logiija, since the stressed vowel is /i/ in the source language, and i is marked as long in orthography)
-eret: /eereht/ transkriberet, demonstreret
-eren: /eeren/ transkriberen, demonstreren
-ehtalaš: /eehtalaš/ teorehtalaš, ehtalaš
-ehta: /eehta/ kvalitehta, fakultehta
-ema: /eema/ teorema, emfysema, morfema
-ola: /oola/ alkohola, kolesterola
-ohpa: /oohpa/ teleskohpa, biotohpa,
-noma: /nooma/ astronoma,
-nyma: /nyyma/ homonyma, anonyma
-sofa /soofa/ filosofa,
In the words which end in a, the long monophthong in the centre prevents latus lengthening from applying. /looka/ vs /lokaa/
